September "First Thursday" Drinks: Freshers Welcome
  Clare College Matriculation 1911
Peacock Alley, The Willard, Washington D.C.

Join Cantab DC at the Society's "First Thursday" drinks as we welcome the Freshers of the Washington DC metropolitan area at the Willard Hotel. This Drinks will be geared to New Members; both those who will be heading off to Cambridge for their first Michaelmas term and those alumni living in the area who want to start attending Cantab DC Events more frequently.

The Drinks is an elegant but low-key event where you can enjoy a great mix of alumni of all ages, degree programs and life experiences, with lots to discuss in a friendly and easygoing environment. Come imbibe in one of America's most historic hotels, the Willard. Catch up with old friends and make new ones!

If you are new in DC or this is your first time at a Cambridge event, make sure to email ahead of time and we'll see that you are greeted and introduced to folks on your arrival. Bring your friends and family - everyone with an alumni connection is welcome! The drinks usually kicks off with the first few people trickling in a few minutes after 6:30 and most having arrived by 7:30. If you get there right at 6:30 and do not see another Cantab, please don't run away! The rest will be there shortly.

Directions: The Willard Hotel is the regular venue for our First Thursday happy hour held monthly. To get to the Drinks, just go through the Willard's lobby, up the steps and past the piano to the long red carpeted hall (called “Peacock Alley”). Then just look for the Cambridge Crest or memorabilia (scarves are an easy giveaway these days) or listen for those British accents!
