BBC Viewing: Boat Race on the Thames
The Dubliner Pub

March 31st 2013 sees the 159th Boat Race between crews from Cambridge and Oxford and to mark the occasion Cantab DC will be organizing an event at the Dubliner.

We have arranged for the pub to open early at 10:00AM, with ample time for coverage to begin at 11:00 and the race starts which starts promptly at 11:30AM (EST), so please plan on arriving for the pre-race festivities, an Easter Brunch and some light-hearted banter.

First raced in 1829 The Boat Race is one of the oldest sporting events in the world, originally taking place in Henley on Thames following a challenge between old school friends. Since the second race in 1836 the contest has taken place in London and is watched by thousands along the banks of The Tideway, between Putney and Mortlake and by millions more on TV around the world. Cambridge leads the series with 81 victories to Oxford's 76, with one dead-heat in 1877.

Come support the Light Blue as they compete against Oxford. With two very strong squads of athletes, expect to see another great race this year. Following last year's eventful race we expect this one should draw a crowd!

We look forward to seeing you bright and early on March 31th!
