About the evening’s program

The evening’s program will commence with a warming glass of mulled wine around the Christmas tree. Move into the inspiring surrounds of the University Club Library to find your fellow alumni while hors d’oeuvres are served.

Join the Vice-Chancellor in a champagne toast, before tucking into the dinner buffet, featuring a festive carvery of roast turkey, cranberry sauce and fresh, crusty rolls. Or for those who have had their fill of Thanksgiving turkey, try the pasta bar for something different. Be sure to leave room for the dessert table. Finally, bring the evening to a close in true Cambridge style with cheese and a glass of port. Non-alcoholic drink options, and vegetarian food options will be available. Additional drinks can be purchased at the University Club bar throughout the evening at very reasonable prices.

The GW Troubadours, George Washington University’s premier a cappella group, will be on hand to sing from their repertoire of Christmas classics and other favorites. The GW Troubs have been singing from their Christmas repertoire at the White House Annual Holiday Tours for three years now, so we are surely in for a treat!

About the University Club

Steeped in history and tradition, the University Club has much in common with the Cambridge Society of Washington, DC. The University Club held its inaugural meeting at the Willard Hotel and boasts a similarly diverse membership, drawn from across the national and international communities. With that in mind, members of the Cambridge Society will certainly feel most at home there this Christmas!

The club is located on 16th Street, between L and M streets (map). Closest metro access is from Farragut North (Red line) and Farragut West (Blue, Orange, Silver lines) stations.

Carriages will be at 11pm. An after-party venue for those who wish to partake in more drinks and dancing will be confirmed in due course.
